Daily Sketch

　先月から祖母が入院しているのだが、コロナウイルス感染拡大防止のため、来院制限があってお見舞いに行けない。祖父から手紙を書いてと頼まれたけど、どうせならと葉書大の紙に絵を描いて送ることにした。
　実は水彩は苦手。けれどもその透明感とコンパクトさにはずっと前から憧れている。だから練習も兼ねて。
　絵では痛みは取れない。腹も膨れない。でも、実利のない芸術にこそ、救いをもたらすときがあると信じている。

 Because of COVID-19, I cannot go see my grandmother who is in hospital since last month. Then I started to send her pictures in size of a postcard.
 To be honest, I'm not good at watercolors though it is always fascinating for me. Plus, it is quite handy. So It's good opportunity to practice, right?
 Art cannot ease pains nor hungers. However, I belive it is the Art that is effective when any utility cannot be a relief.
